Behind the scenes of a wedding breakfast set up at Crockwell Farm
  • In the run up to the wedding, Claire liaised with us regularly to ensure we received exactly what we wanted - the level of detail was amazing. We also asked for Claire's help in moving the flowers from our church ceremony to the reception venue and subsequent dressing of the venue on the day which was a huge relief - nothing was too much trouble. The flowers speak for themselves, truly stunning. But the friendly service Claire also provided was invaluable.

  • Claire was an absolute dream to work with and made picking the flowers one of our fave bits of planning the wedding. She was super helpful from day one, helping us shape our vision and working with us to create a midsummer wildflower wonderland!she considered sustainable seasonal favourites and what would be most efficient for our budget. Claire worked tirelessly to prep the flowers, build an incredible arch and then make hand tied bunches for us to take away the next day.

Mrs Anna Jackson - Crockwell Farm

  • Claire was a pleasure to deal with throughout the booking process, holding regular video calls, and perfectly understood my wife's ideas, also taking into account the fact we had a dog attending. Claire was friendly throughout, and on time on both the evening before and day of the wedding. We also appreciated the card explaining what flowers had been used so that we can use them in the future.

Planning a Wedding At Crockwell Farm

  • We are now part of the Sustainable wedding alliance alongside Crockwell Farm. We have also partaken in our Carbon literacy training at Crockwell with other local suppliers to understand more about the impact of Global Warming is having and how I can do my part in reducing my own carbon footprint.

In the past year Hibiscus has really focussed on sustainability in a number of ways and can say with confidence that we:

Recycling all green waste / cardboard

Create designs in free foam mechanics where possible and as much as possible.

Use eco friendly packaging and presentation of all bridal flowers .

Buy local British flowers ( when in season ) from Wardington ( just miles from Crockwell).

Offer a full hire brochure to allow couples to make a choice to hire rather than buy new imported products for wedding decoration.

Can supply eco friendly biodegradable British confetti in line with Crockwell requirements.

Work only with Dutch importers who care about the environment showing commitment to reduce their carbon footprint and where we can choose to purchase from growers who practice the same and are committed to a safe and well paid work environment for their staff.

  • The Orchard Pavilion gives me the most joy to decorate nestled in the trees surrounded by bird song it’s a really tranquil spot. My floral style is particularly well suited to these sorts of rural idylls – beautiful buildings set in rolling fields or among flower filled gardens, where the boundaries between inside and outside seem to blur.

Many couples choose to decorate the arch and we have now come up with new sustainable ways to decorate creating a de-constructible floral gateway which can be moved and repurposed into the wedding breakfast room.

  • This would be all about creating immersive experiences for you and your guests. There’d be incredible garden roses, scented lily of the valley and delicate trails of flowering jasmine perhaps for the bridal flowers, bouquets and buttonholes. A luscious and full floral meadow aisle leading to a statement archway for the ceremony (both of which would be seamlessly moved if required to the wedding breakfast). Welcoming floral pillars would be placed at the entrance with the chandelier inside beautifully dressed with flowers and foliage’s. The bar area would be embellished with bud vases and lots of candlelight and a floral heart above the fireplace. In the marquee the large urns would be filled abundantly and the balustrade decorated with loose trailing garlands and candles and the tables alternating between impactful tall floral designs and shorter arrangements wit lots and lots of warm romantic candle light. Lastly we’d look to include more thoughtful touches like a vase of flowers in key bedrooms guests and yourselves are staying in and perhaps look at creating a bespoke candle fragrance which would be lit in area’s throughout your wedding day.
